About Karis

Karis May Darling, 11 May 1998 – 4 April 2011 R.I.P.

What a beautiful person both in body and mind. She lived and died to give and help others. Loved by all she touched she emitted a radiance that was infectious with such a personality that you wouldn’t believe inside she was both shy and conscious of what others thought of her.

She was talented in sport and the arts – having just been selected to represent her Ju Jitsu Club in an International competition Event and been short listed for the live shows for Britains Got Talent singing a duet with her older sister Kristi.

She supported her mother Kerri this last 6 months, after having been diagnosed with breast cancer and having a mastectomy, through changing her dressing daily and being their to help in all ways from saying to her mum she was still beautiful to helping around the house and looking after her younger brother Johnnie, and her older sister Kristi.

A wonderful relationship she had with her doting father John, who wholly supported everything she did, the strength to let Karis live on has brought about the Karis May Darling Foundation.

Not only did she give throughout the almost full 13 years on her life – having a rare blood group her parents made the truly amazing decision to donate Karis’ organs – 5 persons and there families now have the second chance to live a fulfilling and beautiful life, the second chance that karis didn’t.

She truly is an angel – our angel. One now that will continue to give through this foundation to help advance sports and the arts to lead to a more fulfilling life for all.

Our Angel

I know that she is with us, I can feel her warmth on me,
She doesn't have to be visible, she is as clear as you to me,

She will wrap her wings around us, on days when we feel low,
Her gentle whispers will reach us, although her face is not on show,

All the warmth in our life, is because she has put love in our heart,
Put there by our own dear Angel, from whom we will never part,

So shut your eyes and try hard to remember her cheeky little face,
She really was sent to us all from a special place,

We will miss her forever, until we meet her on our journey,
She`s making them laugh in heaven now, until she can climb on me,

Please don't ever forget our little Karis, pure kind and funny,
And always remember, its her that makes the day sunny."
